# House Rules

### General House Rules:

- There is **never** any rake.
- Food/drink is by donation. As long as there's money flowing into the jar there will be a variety of food/drink available.
- Contributions to side bets like bad beat or the equipment fund are entirely voluntary.
- The house has the authority to close any game at any time.
- The house has the authority to remove any player, at any time, for any period of time.
- Please deposit garbage and cans/bottles in the appropriate receptacles.
- Cell phones are allowed at the table with restrictions. Do not take/place a call at the table. Answering a phone means your hand is dead with no refunds on previous bets. Texting/Social media is allowed when you are not active in a hand. You may not use your phone from the time you are dealt cards until your cards are in the muck.
- Smoking/Vaping is to take place outdoors.

### Poker Specific House Rules:

- Do not take or make change. The dealer will make change for you.
- The pot is the dealer's responsibility. Do not attempt to assist unless asked.
- In any tournament game involving a "bonus" hand, the dealer will collect the chips. Do not throw the chips at the winning player.
- In tournament play, rebuys and reentries for the purposes of number allowed are the same. Rebuys are immediate and you will remain seated at your assigned table. Reentry is allowed before the end of late entry but you will be treated as a new player and assigned a new seat.
- Surrender is allowed. Forfeit any remaining tournament chips and bounties. The tournament chips are returned to the bank. Bounty chips are forfeited and will be awarded to the winner of the tournament. Points are not awarded.

Generally speaking, the 2022 TDA (Tournament Director's Association) Short Form Rules and the 2024 TDA Long form rules apply.

The director/dictator may issue rulings based on fairness rather than the letter of the law. The director/dictator's decrees are final.
In the event the director/dictator is involved in a dispute, a neutral 3rd party may be nominated to settle the dispute.
House rules may supersede TDA rules. Rules are listed here but are not an exhaustive list.

##### House Rules that specifically supersede TDA rules:

11\. Table balancing will move a player from the table with the largest number of players into the spot previously occupied by the busted player. Some exceptions may be made to any player that is acting as a dealer, the director or nominated assistants, or anyone with special needs.

24\. At chip up, players will receive a single chip of the next highest denomination of chip rounded up. ie if $100 chips are being chipped up, a player with 2x $100 chips will receive a $500 chip. At the beginning of the next round, any player found to have chips of the removed denomination will forfeit those chips.

30\. The director or anyone designated by the director is exempt from this rule during commencement of official duties. Getting a hot dog is not an official duty.

# Bud Beat

An optional $3 bet placed once per tournament contributes to the Bud Beat. Only players that have contributed are eligible for the Bud Beat.

**The payout is as follows:**
10% removed to seed the next Bud Beat. The remaining funds are distributed as follows:
50% to be paid to the "losing hand".
25% to be paid to the "winning hand".
25% to be split among the remaining active players at the table.

**Rules**:

- The minimum qualifying hand shall be posted before the game starts.
- There must be a minimum of 3 active players.
- Both the winning and losing hands must use both hole cards.
- As long as both hole cards are able to play, "counterfeiting" is permitted.
- The hand must go to showdown. Both cards from both hands must be shown.
- In the event of multiple hands that qualify for the bad beat, only the two top qualifying hands will be considered for the Bud Beat Jackpot. The other hand(s) are only eligible for the table share.
- Discussion of the hand while in play or any comments regarding potential Bud Beat hands are prohibited and will result in the disqualification of the hand being a Bud Beat Jackpot hand.
- In the event that there are 2 claims to the Bud Beat Jackpot, the hand that goes to showdown first will be awarded the jackpot. The Jackpot will then be reseeded and awarded to the 2nd table.
- The deck shall be verified at the end of the hand to ensure completeness. A fouled deck (ie too many or to few cards) may void the hand.

Table share payments will be paid same day on a best effort basis. Due to the size of the current jackpot, payouts may be made by Interac eTransfer within 3 calendar days. The "winning/losing" hand jackpot will be paid within 7 calendar days.

# High Hand

- Players must use at least one hole card combined with 3 (three) or 4 (four) community cards to qualify.
- High hand is eligible once the flop has been dealt. The hand does not need to reach showdown to be eligible.
- Both cards must be shown to be eligible.
- There will be no ties. You must beat the posted high hand.
- The money will be equally divided only when two or more players, playing at the same table, split the pot using the same qualifying highest ranking hand.
- In the event that there are 2 claims to the High Hand Jackpot, the highest hand will qualify.
